Six Ways To Market Your Business For Free
In this current climate, we understand that small and medium sized businesses don’t have any extra budget that they can allocate to their marketing spend. Because of this, we wanted to share with you six ways of marketing your business for free.
1. Social Media
Within the last 15-20 years, social media has changed the way we have marketed business drastically. With over 2.89 billion active users worldwide today, a fun fact that’s 306 million more people than the entire world population during 1951, it’s not hard to see why companies invest heavily in fancy ad campaigns to reel in new clients. However, social media’s beauty is that it doesn’t require any financial backing behind it. Small to medium-size business owners, who probably don’t have the funds for large scale campaigns, can still connect to the specific groups they want to target and sell their services or products to.
For those who have never come across this platform before, Mailchimp provides an e-mail marketing platform for businesses by allowing you to store your generated client details and send bulk e-mail campaigns forwarding to your products or services within your website. Though they provide a paid service, they also offer free accounts for the first 2000 contacts you have, so it’s still a fantastic resource to add to your marketing arsenal.
Though blogging doesn’t directly sell your business’s products or services, it can drive high traffic volumes towards your website. As everyone knows, the more traffic you have, the more exposure and potential clients your business receives. It does this by adding relevance to your business’s online stance through SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). If a public member enters a search into google and is relevant to your industry, your business will have a higher chance of being within the first few search results. 4. Small Giveaways & Discounts
There is nothing people love more than a great deal. It doesn’t hurt for a business to engage with their clients and offer the occasional loyalty discount. This can still be done without losing profit on the service you provide and have a knock-on effect of retaining returning customers.
Giveaways on social media are an extremely popular way to gain exposure to new potential customers and increase your follower count. Although this is a cost as you will be giving something away for free, the giveaway itself can be as generous as you wish, and users can enter by following, liking, sharing and/or tagging friends in your post which helps more people see your brand.
I’m sure that most of you reading this article, like myself, find ourselves often perusing the reviews tab when searching for an item or a service that we want to purchase. It gives us a sense of reassurance that what we are buying into is of high quality and who we are buying from is trustworthy and legitimate. With that in mind, it is always a great idea to ask for testimonials from your clients and display them within your website so that others will, in turn, feel that same reassurance.
6. Encourage User-Generated Content
Sometimes clients will love what you do so much that they will often post pictures with a short story sharing their experiences. Though this occurs naturally, there is no harm in encouraging this result by sharing their post through your social media or blogging platforms.
